Water pollution, “Time To act and Resolve”

Next to air, water is the most important element for the preservation of life. Water is a finite commodity which, if not managed properly, will result in shortages in the near future. Water conservation can go a long way to avoid these impending shortages.

Water covers 70% of our planet, and it is easy to think that it will always be plentiful. However, freshwater—the stuff we drink, bathe in, irrigate our farm fields with—is incredibly rare. Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh water, and two-thirds of that is tucked away in frozen glaciers or otherwise unavailable for our use. With increasing population rates and such a small percentage of all the water on Earth fit for consumption, it only makes sense that we must preserve and conserve this precious resource.
But in reality instead of worrying about the use of water for future we waste and pollute this worthy resource. Taking care of water should be a priority of everyone throughout the world.
Pollution of water has adverse effects on health, environment, economy, etc. Unfortunately, at some places the garbage is directly dumped into water, and even chemicals are released into water bodies. It is a bad idea to flush any kind of pills, chemicals or powder medications or drugs down the toilet or crush them in your kitchen sink disposal. They have adverse effects on fish and other aquatic wildlife. Follow a safe way for proper disposal of all types of medical wastes. Accumulation of toxic waste in water bodies is a threat to the entire food chain through plants and animals that feed on it. Despite increased environmental awareness, people still are polluting the environment and this negligence would have harsh consequences in the future.
Polluted water bodies cause diseases that are all around us. Yet most people have no awareness of this grave issue at hand. It is not only the government that has the responsibility; many things can be done by a common citizen to reduce water pollution. Each of us is responsible for the present environmental situation and therefore, must take responsibility to bring about a change in it. If we all don’t start acknowledging the fact that water pollution is a real problem, it for sure won’t be an invisible threat for long. Huge companies that have no regard for the health of the environment are already doing immense damage; we shouldn’t add to it. Instead, we should all be more vocal for the cause of environmental awareness, including that of water pollution. And aside from raising awareness we should all start changing our lifestyle in ways that can positively affect the environment.
There are a number of things that we can do in our daily life to reduce water pollution. The best way to clean the polluted water is not to clean the polluted water but to stop polluting. Parents should educate children about simple water-saving methods and about the effects of water pollution on their future. People should be made aware of water scarcity issues and the impact of water conservation practices. We should also take a pledge and join hands for water conservation. A small effort from everyone can lead to a big change, just as small drops of water together form the huge ocean.

Marriages don't make them costly

Since we see that people now-a-days spend a huge amount of money on marriages , each and everyone wants their marriage to be an memorable moment ,the rich people are able to do so while as at the same time the poorer section or the poorer people are not able to spend such a huge amount on their marriages, The marriages nowadays are done with grand parties that involves the latest fads trends etc.

The above trend like spending of huge amount of money for the marriages by the richer people has also made the middle class families to spend more money which is not even affordable to them as everyone wants to follow the latest trends in the society.
Each one of us have our own views on marriages some people like the marriages as simple as possible while some people like the marriages as in such a grand manner that makes the marriages memorable as the people know that the marriage happens only once in a life so they try to make it as memorable as possible and hence they spend more money on marriages. Some of the people think that spending such a huge amount of money on marriages is just a waste thing and is unnecessary.

We know in India especially on the marriage ceremonies, we see that the people spend so much money that is unnecessary and it is there way to flaunt their money or wealth to actually show their social status but at the same time they forget that the marriages can be done with simplicity and with this also the moments can be enjoyed and made equally pious. The money spent on these unnecessary things can be utilised for other social causes to solve the problems of the society like feeding hungry and all.

Besides if the marriages are done very simply and the latest trends that have been followed if unfollowed may result the society to be more prosperous as by this the huge money spent on marriages can be spent on the poorer section of the society, besides all the people involving the poor section may do the marriages also in a very simple way without following the latest trends in the society by seeing the rich people doing so and hence the poorer section will not feel inferior in the society.
Further I would like to put forth an opinion that as we know the use of disposals are done on a large scale now adays , it would be better if the local traditional pottery is used instead of disposals it will provide economy and an employment to the large sector of the valley and besides the traditional pottery will be preserved and local economy may be developed.
